Delivering the goods.

Wow, I've really been neglecting this side of WR2BAM, haven't I? It's because I don't really do anything interesting enough to post about, frankly. But yesterday I got something totally exciting in the mail:

JUDAS PRIEST TICKETS!

I'm seeing them at the Orange County Fair in August with my boyfriend and my friend Andy (by the way, go check his shit over at No Class). I haven't been this excited to tear open an envelope since I got my AC/DC tickets last fall.

I'm a rocker, I'm a roller.

Wow, I don't keep up with this side of my blog nearly as much as I should.

Went to Alex's Bar this Friday night for live heavy metal karaoke with KNAC/DC. Those of you who are in Southern California should not miss this next time they come around (March 21st is their next date). It is one of my favorite things because I love heavy metal and I really love being the center of attention.

Singing AC/DC's "Rocker":

A bunch of drunk girls joined me onstage for "Welcome To The Jungle" and it was...hilarious, to say the least.

On Sunday I went to the Garden Cafe to celebrate my friend Jodi's daughter Veda's first birthday! She's the cutest baby in the world.

Um, adorable.

Hot & Frothy

My buddy Justin is a barista at Portfolio, a popular coffeehouse here in Long Beach. Recently he revealed to me his outstanding talent for creating images in the foam of lattes, and we hatched a plan to put together a blog featuring his creations. Thus, Hot & Frothy was born.

Here's a taste to whet your appetite:

It's supposed to Bret Michaels. (You know how I feel about him.)

Justin is supposed to be texting me latte art on the regular now so we can keep this blog going. So go check it out!

You got to live until you're dead.

Lux Interior passed today.

The Cramps have been one of my favorite bands for ten years now. "Let's Get Fucked Up" was the song that introduced me to punk rock, in the rattly Jeep of my step-aunt when I was 12 years old. Their live shows have been some of the best I have ever seen. Lux was always on my list of the greatest living frontmen -- now he's on my list of the greatest frontmen of all time.

This is the first celebrity death in a while that has truly affected me, moved me to tears, stopped my heart for a second. Lux will be sorely missed. A true loss for punk rock.

Now, go light a candle, listen to "Songs The Lord Taught Us," and get fucked up for Lux.

Made from Rattlesnake Hide

One of my best friends, JoshR (who also DJs rockin' tunes at bars around southern CA and has a great band called the Meka Leka His), has some of his stuff featured in an art show at Glass House Records in Pomona, CA. We went over to the opening on Saturday night.

Toys That Kill played...I'm not really into them, but they did play a cover of Cock Sparrer's "I Got Your Number," so I was stoked on that because Cock Sparrer is one of my favorite bands of all time (do yourself a favor and pick up Shock Troops for those days when you need an early '80s working class punk pick-me-up).

Shake Appeal.

RIP Ron Asheton.

The Stooges were one of the first punk rock bands I ever heard. Ron was a shredding guitarist and this is a major loss for the rock world. I listened to Raw Power on the drive home last night and I suggest everyone do the same, in remembrance.

Detroit Rock City

I just felt I should brag a little bit and post the Christmas present I made for my KISS-loving friend Andy. The Destroyer album cover was my inspiration:

And I came up with these felt monster versions of the band members:

Close ups:

Gene Simmons

Ace Frehey

Paul Stanley

Peter Criss

I wish I had better pictures of these guys because in person they are about a hundred times better looking. Andy was floored when he opened the box.
